Maturing is hard–I’m here to make it relatable. My name is Minaa B., and I’m a therapist, mental health educator, and author of Owning Our Struggles. I’m a lover of music, an advocate for going outside and touching grass, and a binge-watcher of shows like The Office & Girlfriends.

It all started with Kill Bill by SZA.

As a therapist, I believe that music and entertainment can be powerful vehicles for healing, so when I heard Kill Bill by SZA, I couldn’t stop thinking about all of the hidden gems being held behind her lyrics, from love addiction to emotional immaturity, it was a playful way to capture how hard maturing can be sometimes, but the song’s popularity also proves how many of us are navigating that same messy, complicated journey of growth.

That’s exactly what I'm So Mature is about: the messy, real, sometimes humorous experience of healing and growing. It’s a reminder that we still have a lot more maturing to do because healing isn’t a destination—it’s an ongoing process. As we navigate life, we can find ways to heal through the stories, music, and cultural moments that reflect our experiences.

Consider us your dose of healthy escapism. As mental health awareness grows and streaming content consumption reaches all-time highs, I'm So Mature sits at the intersection of these two cultural trends, creating a new media category that blends entertainment and personal growth. Through deep dives into film, TV, music, and cultural moments, we help our audience turn their everyday entertainment consumption into a pathway for healing.
